International Open Call for the position of the Director of the Center for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw, Poland

The Minister of Culture and National Heritage announces the competition for the post of Director of the Centre for Contemporary Art (CCA) Ujazdowski Castle, 2 Jazdów St., 00-467, Warsaw.
 
I.     In order to be eligible, a candidate must fulfil the following conditions:
1.    Hold a diploma of higher education (preferably in the field of arts and humanities);
2.    Have a minimum of 8 years of documented experience in cultural institutions, or similar institutions, such as institutes, scientific and research institutions, publishing houses operating in the field of culture; or a minimum of 5 years of experience in an executive post in any of the above-mentioned institutions;
3.    Be familiar with the issues of contemporary visual arts as well as other disciplines represented by the CCA;
4.    Have experience in running significant cultural projects, including international projects;
5.    Be familiar with the legal regulations concerning the work of cultural institutions;
6.    Have a knowledge of a foreign language (preferably English);
7.    Be in good health;
8.    Have a clean criminal record with respect to matters specified in points II.9 and II.10.
 
II.    The applications submitted by candidates must include:
1.    Written declaration of participation in the competition, including a statement of motivation for the candidacy to the post of Director of the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle;
2.    Written outline of the programme of running the CCA (no longer than 10 pages A4 size) with respect to management, programming, and research in the field of contemporary art, art theory, and criticism in relation to artistic genres represented by the CCA;
3.    CV with a photograph;
4.    Biographical note outlining professional experience thus far;
5.    Confirmed documents attesting to: a minimum of 8 years of documented experience in cultural institutions, or similar institutions, such as institutes, scientific and research institutions, publishing houses operating in the field of culture; or a minimum of 5 years of experience in an executive post in any of the above-mentioned institutions (certificates or employment reference letters);
6.    Description and documentation of realised projects in the field of culture, including international projects;
7.    Officially issued duplicate of a diploma of higher education and, if applicable, certificates of academic degrees, postgraduate studies, or additional qualifications;
8.    Valid health certificate which allows for holding an executive post;
9.    Declaration that the candidate has a clean criminal record, as far as crimes committed intentionally are concerned, and that the candidate is currently not under criminal investigation;
10.  Declaration that the candidate has not been barred from holding executive posts related to the management of public funds as stated in Article 31, section 1, item 4, of the Act of 17 December 2004 concerning the responsibility for the breach of public finance discipline (Dziennik Ustaw [Journal of Laws], 2005, No. 14, item 114, as amended), as well as that the candidate is currently not under investigation of a Public Finance Auditor;
11. Declaration of consent in which the candidate agrees that her or his personal data be processed for the purposes the competition in accordance with the Data Protection Act of 29 August 1997 (Dziennik Ustaw [Journal of Laws], 2002, no. 101, item 926, as amended);
12. An application may include letters of opinion or recommendation;
13. Email address.
III. The applications along with all attachments should be sent in a sealed envelope to the following address of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland: Ministerstwo Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego, ul. Krakowskie Przedmieście 15/17, 00-071 Warszawa, Biuro Kadr i Szkolenia. The applications can also be submitted personally to the above address. All envelopes must be signed with the following information: ‘KONKURS – Centrum Sztuki Współczesnej – Zamek Ujazdowski NIE OTWIERAĆ’ [Competition – Centre for Contemporary Art – do not open]. The applications must be submitted before 12 May 2014 (date of receipt by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage).

V. The applications will be reviewed by the committe within 30 days from the submission deadline.
